enjoyed the weather. >> the weather was perfect. how long will this hang around lynette. >> it's over today. >> oh, well. >> we have the break today. we are dealing with mild warmer temperatures this morning and afternoon. but the clouds will be out there this morning and the possibility of showers and thunderstorms some of those could be on the frisky side going into the afternoon as well. looking at maryland's most powerful radar, seeing a few rain drops across the area dealing with drizzle around baltimore. also around bel air this morning but we are dry mainly. going into the afternoon we will see changes in the forecast mainly around lunchtime and after that. now, as we look at temperatures this morning, because of the cloud cover look how mild we are. yes, 66 in bowie. 65 davidsonville. the high temperatures for this time of the year should be around 67 degrees. so we are starting out on that note. perry hall at 61. and as you step out the door this morning, you don't need the coat but take the rain gear with you as you head out the door. wind out of the southwest at

way up to 83. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charley over to you. gunfire erupts outside a house party changing the lives of three men forever. abc2 news was the only camera to see the crowd that turned out to honor 21-year-old matthew moreau shot and killed -- morrow shot and killed. his best friend was shot in the arm but survived. morrow was training to be a mixed marshal arts fighter. >> the people out here have no respect for life and would rather impress somebody by you know shooting at random and it's crazy. >> we miss him already and thank everybody out here for this support. we will never let him go. never. >> police arrested two 18-year- old ronald mcleod and daniel savage from glen burnie charged

with first-degree murder. mcloed is charged with handgun poe tegs. snow is make it hard to find two missing men from our area. they disappeared while hiking last week. family recommends reported them missing after they didn't show up for the flight home. they have been look for they will after -- look for them after finding their car late friday night. a man is dead after being hit by a police car. police say that the officer was heading to the scene of a shooting on jack street when the accident happened. the shooting victim is expected to be all right. police are investigating the car crash. five family members killed in a house fire will be buried on the sam day. nancy worrell and her four grandchildren will be memorialized. she was 55 and the children were under the age of 7. they died early thursday morning after a fire broke out in the home on denwood avenue

in northeast baltimore. a fund has been set up to help the family. they didn't have insurance and they could use the help paying for five funerals. so if you are curious you can donate at any bank of america branch to the nancy worrell funeral association. the information is on the screen. firefighters want to make sure this tragedy never happens. they were in the city working to keep families safe going door to door checking smoke detectors. >> we are canvassing the entire city of baltimore. for fighters from every fire station and engine and truck on ground going into the communities checking with residents to make certain that they have working smoke alarms. >> the firefighters didn't make it to your house and you need a working smoke detector call 311. ten years ago drug dealers killed 7 members of the dawson family. it's one of the worst tragedies to hit baltimore. since then a neighborhood

center has been built in their memory. the dawson safe haven center provides everything from housing assistance to job training as well as after school programs for neighborhood kids. tomorrow the senter will host a memorial to -- center will host a memorial to remember the dawson family. happening today, the naacp will make an important announcement concern the upcoming election. abc2 news linda so is here to tell us what they are going to be supporting. >> reporter: it's about same sex marriage. ncaap leaders will announce their support for question 6 this afternoon which would legalize same sex marriage in maryland. voters will get their chance to decide on the issue when they head to the polls in november. naacp leaders from baltimore and maryland captainers will get together at one at the national headquarters in baltimore to officially support question 6. now back in may, the national board of directors passed a resolution endorsing

marriage equality. the maryland chapter has been involved in supporting question 6 for months now. linda so, abc2 news. it was supposed to be a joke between boys but it ended up with one of them being shot in the head outside a dark home in the middle of nowhere. charley is at the desk to explain how it went terribly wrong. >> reporter: it was a sleepover. 7 teens at a home in rural alabama a few decided to prank the others by faking a home invasion and cut the power to the house and crept back-side. teens were trying to find the fuse box when 15-year-old possibly playing the role of a intruder jumped out of the closet a friend dropped the video game and shot him in the head. the home is far from the beat and path and we will show you where it is using map quest for you this morning. it's in cul colbert county albam --a. it's about an hour -- alabama.

it's an hour and a half east oftupelo mississippi but there's nothing wrong and that made it difficult for emergency crews because they couldn't find the home. so, the boits boys put him in the back of a pickup and drove him to a convenience store where they met with up sheriff deputies and medical team to administer assistance there. were no alcohol or drugs involved. and so far none of the teens face charges. he remains in critical condition right now in the hospital so megan this is a heart breaking storey. friends trying to do what they thought might be fun and it went wrong. news time 4:38. time for a check on our weather. hopefully you've gotten a chance to enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures. what a day. >> it was gorgeous yesterday. over the weekend, it was stellar. but today it's going to be a change in the forecast. now, as we look at the big picture, we are looking at heavy rain ace cross the

pacific northwest -- rains across the pacific northwest. the eastern half of the nation we have a system bringing us rain across the area. thunderstorms are possible and some of those could be on the severe side. mainly the storm prediction center has a slight risk for severe weather across the lower and maryland shore. we will keep it peeled to the area for today. our eyes watching to see what happens. but we have a cold front that's going to be moving through back off towards the west that will move through the area and with that, we have very mild air in place and very warm temperatures so the clashing of the air masses could be bringing us a chance for some thunderstorms as we go into the afternoon. right now though, temperatures are on the mild side because we have the clouds out there. 64 degrees in baltimore right now. westminster at 65. gaithersburg at 65 degrees. and # 6 in landover and 66 in annapolis as we go towards the eastern shore 67 degrees there. and chesapeake beach coming to 66 and edgewood at 64. we are dealing with some windy conditions so easton coming in

about the hpv vaccine. they looked at cline chal signs of -- clinical signs of sexual activity. the study found that there was no difference between girls who were vaccinated and those who were not. some doctors have recommended that both girls and boys get the hpv shot before they have sex. it's important to take care of your teeth but as we know, it's not cheap. this week, a rye gene program -- hygiene program is offering free preventive care for seniors 62 and older including a x-rays and cleaning. appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the bccc dental hygiene clenic. we are 15 minutes away from5. you dropped a bomb on us the forecast is changing but the roads how are they. >> reporter: so far so good. i will have live looks coming up in a few. >> all right. great. >> i hope you got out this

weekend. >> okay, no. lynette. >> that's all i got. we have changing weather but it will be back tomorrow. so you feel better. so today we have to get rid of the sunshine that we saw yesterday because we can see what's going on at the surface. we have a cold front that's going to move through later today. and it's going to clash with that warmer air coming up from the south and west. and with that, the storm prediction center does have us in a slight risk. mainly southern maryland will get in on some thunderstorms as we go throughout the day. and those could be severe. basically damaging winds with that. so we are waiting for that cold front to move through. the warm front passed through and that's what we felt yesterday. that's why it felt so nice and pleasant out there. behind the cold front, high pressure will build in. and this is what i am talking about for tomorrow. high pressure will be back with lots of sunshine across the area. although, it's going to be cooler behind the cold front. right now, though, temperatures are coming in at 65 degrees in edgemere and monrovia and with that we are mild this morning. and also, we are breezy this

morning as well. let's go to the tropics because we have tropical storm rafael out there. winds sustained at 70 miles an hour. and it's a little below hurricane status at this point. it's moving to the north, northwest at 9 miles an hour and you can see the track right now, it keeps it away from the u.s. but bermuda has tropical storm watches for the area. future trend not picking up on a whole lot. but look what happens as we go into the lunchtime. it could be a wet one. you will want to eat it indoors. showers and storms are possible going into 3, 4 with plenty sunshine moving in for tomorrow. and here's the high temperature i am going with today. it's going to be breezy and warm. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. heading to 695, there are no problems from parkville up towards towson. looking at an 11 minute right on the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. and here's what 95 looks like in white marsh at route 43. everything is moving along no problems getting into the city.

thanks for joining us on this monday morning. the debate season is underway and up next is perhaps the most interesting of the three presidential debates that we are going see. this time it's going to be undecided voters asking the questions and we have a look ahead. >> reporter: round 2. president obama and governor romney face- off in their second debate tuesday. a town hall moderated by cnn candy crowley who says it presents unique challenges for the candidates. >> the challenges they have to

connect not just with the people that are looking into the television and watching them. but to the people that are on the stage with them some 80 or so undecided voters chosen by gallup so they have to keep the folks in mind. it's a much more intimate and up close adventure with voters. >> reporter: the president isunder pressure after the last turn on the debate stage got bad reviews. >> one bad debate is losing a battle. two bad debates could very well mean he loses the war. i think you will see a very different president obama this time around. >> reporter: he -- he has to be seen as being aggressive but not overly aggressive. >> reporter: romney enjoyed a post debate bounce. and a boost of confidence on the campaign trail. >> there's more energy and passion and people are getting behind the campaign. >> reporter: at a town hall without a podium and with audience interaction, the candidates style and body language can take on added

weight. at the first town hall style presidential debate in 1992, president george hw bush repeatedly checked his watch. a sign some thought he didn't want to be there. commentators said bill clinton about the recession highlighted his ability to connect with voters. one thing that makes it hard for a candidate to be aggressive is a question like this. >> can we focus on the issues and not the personalities and the mud. >> reporter: analyst say the format could be good for the president. >> he will actually be able to draw from that energy from the energy of the public and the crowd. >> reporter: as for romney. >> one of his big challenges during the entire campaign has been not being able to connect with the common man and woman and child. he's got to be able to come across as connecting. he's got to come across as genuine and caring and likable. >> the candidate that makes the
